Does the click keep going if the screen turns off?
Baton holds your screen awake while the click runs, so it never dims or locks itself mid-song. Set the phone on the stand and play. The click plays while Baton is on screen and stops when Baton leaves it; there is no background audio, by design. When you want the beat without the phone, cast it: the click moves to your TV or speaker and continues there, with your phone as the remote.
How loud is the click, and where is the volume?
Baton plays at media volume, so the volume keys while Baton is open set the click. On iPhone the click plays whether the ring/silent switch is on or off, and it sits over anything else you already have playing.
How does casting work?
Tap the cast icon on the face and pick any Chromecast device on your Wi-Fi. A TV shows a big pulse and beat counter the whole room can follow; a speaker just clicks, which is exactly what a rehearsal PA wants. Tempo, accents, subdivisions and sounds all change live from the phone.
I bought Pro and it shows locked
Open Baton, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases, while signed into the store account that bought it: the Google account on Android, the Apple Account on iPhone. Pro is a one-time purchase tied to that store account, not to a device.
I'm on a new phone
Install Baton from the store and restore Pro the same way: Settings, then Restore purchases, signed into the store account that bought it. On Android, your setlists and settings live on the phone itself and are not part of the phone's backup, so they start fresh on a new one.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store you bought Baton Pro from, under its own policy: Google Play refunds or Apple refunds. If a purchase is refunded, Pro locks again. We never see your payment details, so we cannot issue one ourselves.
Where is my data, and what happens if I uninstall?
Baton has no accounts and nothing to sign in to. Your tempos, setlists, settings and the record that Pro is unlocked live on your device, and uninstalling removes them. Your Pro purchase stays with your store account and comes back with Restore purchases. The privacy page has the detail.
iPhone asks whether Baton may find devices on your local network
Allow it. That is how Baton finds your Chromecast, and casting will not work without it. If you said no, turn it back on in iOS Settings under Baton.
How do I get Baton?
Baton is on Google Play. Install it from the Google Play listing. Updates arrive through Google Play like any other app.
Found a bug? Have a thought?
Email us any time. For bugs, include your device model, the Android or iOS version, and the Baton version, which is shown at the bottom of Settings, under About. Feature ideas are welcome too; Baton stays small and private, but the practice tools will keep growing.
